Some words from Brother Elisabeth Beall (right) I spent the past four months interning for Kiva, an international nonprofit that aims to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty and expand economic opportunity. It is the world's first and largest crowdfunding platform for social good. Since 2005 Kiva and its growing global community of 1.3 million lenders have crowdfunded more than $740 million in microloans to over 1.7 million entrepreneurs in 85 countries, with a 98% repayment rate.
One of my tasks was to represent and advocate for Kiva at small business resource fairs, and I would not have been able to confidently interact with so many professionals without the interviews skills I learned from being a brother in Alpha Kappa Psi.
